Tara O’Reilly is an award winning, Dublin-based freelance Production Designer and Art Director, working across film, TV, commercials, and events.
After spending time working in London, she returned to Ireland and has since carved out a dynamic career in the art department, bringing a creative and practical eye to every project she works on.
Tara recently wrapped production on Season 5 of The Young Offenders, the hit Irish comedy series set and shot in Cork. In 2024, she was Production Designer on VideoNasty, a visually bold and stylised genre Tv Series for the BBC.
As an Art Director, Tara’s credits include the upcoming Visitation (EOne, Rumble Films, and Blinder Films), Twig, and Ballywalter. She was also Supervising Art Director on the SKY series The Midwich Cuckoos, a seven-part drama that wrapped in late 2021.
Earlier in her career, she Art Directed Calm With Horses, a critically acclaimed feature that earned a British Film Designers Guild Award nomination for Best Production Design (Contemporary Independent Feature), alongside Production Designer Damien Creagh and Set Decorator Annalisa Andriani. She also Art Directed It Is In Us All, the feature directorial debut of Antonia Campbell-Hughes.
Tara Production Designed the award-winning short film A Better You, which received the Jury Prize for Best Production Design at the 2020 Sapporo International Short Film Festival, as well as a Kinsale Shark Award for Best Production Design the same year.
In the commercial world, Tara has designed and art directed campaigns for a wide range of Irish and international brands. Highlights include a Tourism Ireland campaign for Tiny Ark (directed by Leonn Ward), an Irish Rail commercial with Bold Studios, and work for Brennan’s Bread, Powers Whiskey, Primark, Permanent TSB, Denny, and A Post to name a few.
